Twitter sent me to an article in the Guardian about Starbucks rebranding itself, and as I was idly perusing the comments I came across these gems:

won't be going in more. The coffee's bloody horrible.I think for their next step they should remove all of their shops from our streets and turn them into greasy spoons serving bacon banjoes and mugs of tea for 50p, run by ladies called Beryl and Cath and Lisa.

I like their coffee. It's *whisper it* not that bad. Anyway, for those us forced to work in canary wharf, there isn't much choice. Not if you want to drink a proper filter coffee instead of that espresso + hot water travesty.

Now I have some bunnys running about in my head that I don't have room for.

But the comments did make me laugh.

My daughter is about to start working at the busiest starbuck's in FW. She hangs out there anyway, studying night and day, her good friend Casey works ungodly numbers of hours there. Tiff the daughter brought home 30 unwanted sandwiches yesterday--I brought 15 of them to work. My co-workers are ecstatic that this will likely continue. Casey's long been dumping unsold food on us.

The comments make me laugh, too. I rather like Starbucks (mostly cuz I get it free if I go to that particular one lol) but discovered a gas station near us has fantastic coffee, 20 different kinds, with all the additionals one could want and it has turned into a hugely popular place to snag it cheap. Hmmm. Watch out Starbuck's!

I worked at a pretzel shop in the mall during my undergraduate days. I used to have a neverending supply of leftover soft pretzels in the freezer! :0)

I will occasionally treat myself to one of those super fabulous frozen coffees from Starbucks, elsewise I make it myself! (or get it from the rapidly becoming famous Sheetz).

Sheeetz? I don't know SHeeetz!

I will miss Tiff working at the Gap though--50 % off all clothes! Growl. But STarbuck's will be more flexible, and they have a nice tuition-reimbursement program, and they are more in line with her new philosophy in life. LOL. Somehow.

Cybermen and daleks are morally opposed to bad coffee. That's the real reason.
