ICONS MEME:
1. Reply to this post with "AND WE MEET AGAIN," and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

She picked these icons of mine. What shall I say about them?

BLAH.

Am exhausted this week for various hormonally induced reasons.

Cannot get my brain to focus. It's just whirling around like those crazy flocks of birds who wheel around and keep landing on power lines.

So ... here are some THINGS for that WIP MEME...

Pillow talk with Jack was pretty much like any other talk with Jack, just with fewer clothes. There were the same proportion of "Did I ever tell you about the time..." conversations. Mostly, Ianto was content to let Jack ramble on, but sometimes he liked to get his own back.

So when Jack started with "There was this one time when..." Ianto interrupted him.

"Owen and I went Weevil Hunting one night while you were gone."

Jack rolled onto his side, propped his head up on one hand, and ran his other hand up Ianto's neck.

"Really? Was that Weevil Hunting, or WEEVIL Hunting?"

Ianto rolled onto his back, and put his hands behind his head.

"And then we had a fight about it. Well, to be fair he was pretty drunk at the time."

"Easy, easy there Ianto," Jack said, laying his hands on his shoulders.

Ianto was suddenly flushed, his laughter turning to big gulping gasps for air.

"Can't ... I can't..."

"Shhh," Jack said, smoothing the hair on the back of Ianto's head.

"Pocket..." Ianto gasped, pointing at his jacket that was hanging on the back of Toshiko's chair. "...Watch..." he managed to get out at last.

Captain Harkness knelt, cobblestones digging into his knees as he held his dead mistress in his arms.

It was late at night, and he could hear the water from the fountain in the square splashing in the background, as his pulse thundered in his ears. Cooper, the housekeeper, stood looking down at them, her eyes wide.

Once upon a time -- a couple of days ago -- [livejournal.com profile] lefaym asked me some questions... here are some answers...

1. What is your favourite dessert?

Asking me to choose my favorite sweet thing, is rather like asking me to choose my favorite oxygen molecule... but if I had to pick one, I think I would say ... the whoopie pie. If you don't know what that is a) I'm sorry for you and b) it's rather like two cookie shaped chocolate cupcakes with white cake frosting in the middle. OM NOM NOM NOM... (they come in other flavors, but the chocolate with white icing version is really the only one that counts IMHO.

2. Which is your favourite season of Torchwood, and why?

Coming into Torchwood after both series one and two had already aired, they seem like one whole season to me in some ways... but if I have to pick, I'll give it to series two for including nods to Torchwood past. I love to think about Torchwoods other than Jack's, with special love for Torchwood 1918. I wish we'd gotten a whole episode with that team, instead of about four minutes of screen time.

3. When did you first write fic?

My first (other?) fandom is the one that inspired me to start writing fanfic. I became obsessed/possessed one Saturday afternoon with the idea for a AU version of L&O: Criminal Intent where Bobby was a priest rather than a detective, and he and Eames met the day her husband was murdered. I haven't re-read it in a long time. It's probably dreadful. But I remember SO clearly sitting and writing and writing and writing. (and ironically a L&O:CI/Torchwood crossover got me to TW fandom... which always makes me smile.)

4. Would you rather be a seagull or a lighthouse?

I'd like to say seagull, as I'd like to have the freedom to fly from place to place, but at heart I'm much more of a stolid lighthouse.

5. If you had to spend 24 hours locked in a room with a Doctor Who character, who would you choose? (The room has an en suite, and food, so you don't have to worry about essentials.)

Novice Hame. I want to talk to her about The Face of Boe.

quiz time!

The Spanish thing is a bit of a puzzler... but elsewise it seems to fit pretty well. :D

How many words was I supposed to include in this about the place where I live? Here are a few: hilly, historic, Victorian, architecture, valley, rural, you frequently go "up t'college" from here, county seat, old money versus not-so-new poverty, flammable, small, town.

So[info]hanuueshe starts a “five random things about yourself” meme? Can I find five reasonably interesting things about myself?

1.     Despite being 42 I don’t really think of myself as a grown-up. I lived at home until I was 30, when I moved into an apartment just a couple of blocks from the house where I grew up. A couple years after that my parents helped me buy a house. This was more their idea than mine. Yardwork and junk is not my idea of a fun way to spend an afternoon. But I think they felt I would be more settled, or secure or some nonsense if I had my own house. The house was brown when we bought it … and I called it the Little Brown House right out of those “Five Little Peppers…” children’s books. Then we painted it grey, and now it’s just called the Little House. Which is from another series of children’s books from the 20’s called “Maida’s Little {fill in the blank place: Shop, House, School, Theater, Zoo…}."

2.    I like working for a Library, but I hate my job. Cataloging documentaries used to be fun. Now it’s just a pain in the ass. I’ve just been doing it too long. Unfortunately for me, and thanks to the job market, I think I will be at this crappy job for a while yet.

3.    Being a cat owner is a total shock to me. We always had dogs. But be careful of saying randomly, “If I ever got a cat, I’d get an orange tabby and name it Daniel Striped Tiger.” Co-workers show up with stray orange tabby kittens the day after you say that and you feel compelled to take him home and love the lazy sod to bits.

4.    I am an only child and have always preferred imaginary worlds to this one. Also, the bulk of my reading was books set before WWI, so I am not always sure how to meet people without the benefit of a formal introduction…

5.    I could live on pancakes!

My dream once upon a time was to turn this building into a great hotel.

"The Academy" was, in it's day THE school to send the future leaders of the state to.

Eventually, it turned into low income housing.

And then one day, this happened...

Don't play with lighters, kids, we lose history (and dreams) that way...

Huzzah. I have been tagged for the first time! Thanks[info]curriejean! and since I can’t obsessively check twitter every five seconds…

Who sleeps next to you at night?

my cat … Daniel Striped Tiger … and occasionally a stuffed sheep (depending upon levels of Torchwood induced traumas).

What kind of books do you read?

it’s really more about the kind of books I DON’T read, given the size of the pile of ‘to be read’ books on my coffee table. There are a lot of books in that pile about angsty detectives, actually. I can usually get through anything with a good solid narrative. Have a fondness for satirical essays, books about moving someplace new, am completely smitten by the Wimsey-verse, and children’s books written before 1940.

What’s your Occupation?

I help maintain a film collection for a large University library. also, I seem to be getting paid to do theater more and more lately, so that’s exciting.

What's really creepy?

vague swishing noises in the dark, centipedes, and my mother’s unhealthy obsession with pinecones.

What's your current fandom,obsession,addiction?

Torchwood. [Oh Torchwood series 3 – you are the hate that tastes like raspberries.]

What websites do you visit when you go on line?

livejournal, flickr, hulu, IMDb, wikipedia, etsy, and elebenty-hundred crafty blogs.

Do you get cravings? if so what?

donuts. I think of them as legal crack.

What do you do to change your mood?

ABBA can be particularly useful for this. also ice cream.

What's your Zodiac sign?

I am a goat.

Do you want to learn another language?

certainly. must first obtain more agile brain box.

5 things you cant live without?

theater. cheese. black patent-leather mary jane shoes. things to stick other things together with. friends.

Something you would like to say to somebody?

I wish you (you know who you are) could care for me more.

Looking forward to?

my upcoming vacation. T-minus 24 days and counting…

Say something to the person who tagged you.

*hugs* this was fun!

I don't know what this says about me (if anything)... but here 'tis...

Empire Magazine has revealed its list of the 50 Greatest TV Shows ever:
1. Bold the shows you watch/used to watch.
2. Italic the shows you've seen at least one episode of.
3. Strikeout the shows you've never seen.
4. Post your answers.
