maybe it's just the copier fumes...

... having a bit of a "I fail at life" day today. On these days when I am beset by the lonelies, and think even the internets hate me...
(I never used to think I was a drama queen. I may have to readjust my thinking?)
more than likely it's residual emotions swirling around as my oldest (living) friend just emailed me that there's nothing more they can do for her dad's liver disease except for hospice care. She's been distant. I'm shy. Not the greatest combination there.
Anyway... insecurities are running me around in circles today.
Although ... I am nine dollars richer than I was this morning having sold a book on amazon. Posted a bunch of stuff up the other week as an attempt to bring in a bit more cash... at this point my extra income streams are more like creeks ... or more properly for these parts ... cricks. But every dollar counts? Right? That's what my public TV station always tells me :0)
if you see any glimpses of silver linings... send 'em my direction...

Date: 2009-09-09 05:00 pm (UTC)I have a SLEW of books I want to Amazon. Seriously. I should pluck your brain on this! I've been waiting for pay day to get a new bookshelf--going to pull out all the gazillion books (especially the research books I bought and don't need anymore) and see what I can do.
a friend of mine used to scour half-price book stores, buy the books, turn around and sell on Amazon for tidy if small profit. She would do this to make enough money for her daughter's textbooks at school.
I also get beset by the lonelies. Yes, I have my dear Nick, but with him in Germany and me here, it gets tough sometimes. Right now I am contemplating joining a local hiking club, and on the weekend he is gone to the Hub, am considering packing up my dog, heading for the Hill Country and hiking out there. Just to get out and DO SOMETHING. Yeah, I'll be alone, except for my dog, but I don't always mind the being alone--it is the lonelies that get me, too.
