I do not know / know yet whether it's relevant to the fact that I've been feeling "better" this week, in a general sense ... but I've been concentrating on eating a lot more protein.
Cottage cheese for breakfast. Meat and cheese for lunch. A protein smoothie {those Naked berry smoothies are addicting} mid-afternoon. Peanut laden "granola" bars for snacks. Dinner's been catch as catch can ... but I seem to be more with it and less tired so far this week, so it's certainly something worth paying attention to.
Also helped by my attempt to get more sleep, and the fact that the weather has been cooperating!
I've got to do something to stop feeling like a slug all the time.
Thinking about re-starting the couch to 5K thing September 1. Would be nice to think I'd keep up with it, and might be able to get to the 5K, run for 1/2 an hour or however long it is, maybe, year's end. But I am SOOOOOOO out of shape. So not sure how realistic that might be. Or that I could stick with it that long. My attention span is not very attentive :)
But anyway ... it's Earthquake Day + one (LOL) and I am off to read the college paper and eat my lunch.
And after an afternoon of web work, I seem to have agreed to go to a baseball game tonight. Details are still forthcoming, but despite knowing next to zilch about baseball, the weather is marvelous, and Jim and Cee Cee are always great company. Plus, if we're among the first 1,000 fans ... it's free stein night for Irish Heritage Days or somesuch nonsense. Free mugs!! ;)

Date: 2011-08-24 06:22 pm (UTC)I have been such a slug for the last, oh, year. I was doing well with walking and lifting and then I got so sick last fall and just never got back to it. I walk the dogs but PLEASE they stop and sniff everything so it's not exactly aerobic.
I would be VERY interested in doing a couch to 5K with you if you decide to do it - and if having a twitter fitness buddy would be good (I'm all about encouragement but no guilt).

Date: 2011-08-24 06:33 pm (UTC)we should def. think about that twitter fitness buddies thing. If I'm on my own, I'll give up. So having someone to encourage me (and vice versa!!) that could be a really good thing :)
The other necessities, based on previous attempt ... a towel, and a really kickass playlist :P
