the morning after the night before...
Jul. 21st, 2011 12:07 pmSo the awesome thing about getting up seventy bazillion times to check on the new kitten was that I realized that in all the new kitten excitement that I had forgotten to put more minutes on my phone ... which was chirping at me from my purse during the 3 am check. So I grabbed the itouch, and my debit card, and five minutes later, more minutes on my phone, with no break in service. Squeaked that one in thanks to Jinxy.
Or rather my paranoia about Jinxy. He seemed to be fine mostly when I checked on him. He was either wedged behind the door (he's taken to running there as his safe zone when freaked out by something) or flopped on the floor under a chair.
I wouldn't have been QUITE so freaked out, but he's in the back of the house, in a room with no air conditioning, and I was in my bedroom at the front of the house with the door shut and the air conditioner blasting. So I couldn't hear him if he fussed, or if he got into something and there were crashing noises. Neither of which seemed to happen. But somehow, the air conditioner makes almost the exact same noise as the bell on his collar, and it was just a step from that to imagining his cries. So I'd have to get up and check.
Kind of nervous about him being home alone all day, but he does have to learn to do that, so he might as well start. Its just that its so blasted hot out. Well, we'll see what happens when I get home tonight ... hopefully he hasn't learned to scale the pet gate on the first day. If I can keep him in his room at least until Monday night when we go to the vets for a checkup, then I think we'll be good.
Awesomely, my Facebook friends want to throw me/us a kitten shower. I may never have a baby shower, so I better get in on this while the getting is good :)))
