So, a little bit to say about a lot of things.

Finished reading “Michael Tolliver Lives” last night, and loved it. Only problem was, it was such a vivid first-person narrative I had Michael chattering to me in my dreams all night long. I wonder what he was talking about?

Got word tonight that one of my former drama teachers/directors I worked with passed away this afternoon from a brain aneurysm which was a complication of a whole lot of other things that’s had her hospitalized for weeks now. Sad. She once asked me THE question of my life, “why are you so inhibited.” I wish I had an answer. My mother’s response, while sympathetic, was to lecture me about losing weight as ‘extremely overweight people die.’ Yeah.

Just finished up a big bowl of the same Minestrone I’ve been eating since I made it on Saturday. A big pot of soup/stew is good for a week’s worth of dinners. I just have to be able to eat the same thing five nights in a row.

Over dinner this week, I’m working my way through Firefly, season one. A friend lent it to me, and I’ve been wanting to watch it for a while now. Very space westerny … but I’m down with that. (and advice on where in the continuum to watch ‘Serenity?’ I was told don’t watch it first… but when SHOULD I watch it?)

Am off now to, by hook or by crook, try and come up with a plot for this nebulous novel I have floating around in my brain. If I can plot out some kind of game plan, I can give NaNoWriMo a try. I don’t know that I can do 2,500 words a day but I might be able to manage 1,000. I just keep going back to a sentence I read in a how to for writers book a while back “figure out what your main character wants and don’t give it to him.” Yeah. I should do that.

We’ll see. I ain’t good with the stick-to-i-tive-ness… but I can at least try.

Maybe the novel will go better than the diet. Eating less and NOT losing any weight. Whatever.

And so I’m off. I downloaded yWriter to Lola so if I can find some kind of structure, I can keep track of it with that.
