write, right?
May. 21st, 2009 09:39 amSo I went on a hunt yesterday for a cheap-ish fountain pen that I could use day to day. Pulled into a Staples not far from my work to see what they might have... and while I couldn't find any middle of the line pens... I did find these Pilot "Varsity" disposable fountain pens. They're a little short and a little light for my personal comfort and preference, but for a couple bucks apiece, I can't complain too much.
And as a theater person that often has to prop shows set before the age of ballpoint pens... I like that these... with perhaps a bit of spray paint to cover up the brand name, could get passed off onstage as the real thing ... without the hassle of tracking down period pens, and making sure they're full of ink etc...
I would rather not have had something disposable... but for everyday carrying around and getting chucked in my giant bag ... I suppose maybe it's actually better this way. And they come in colors! The three pack I got had black, blue, and purple... and I see from my online snooping that there are other colors. The day I find pink ink in a fountain pen is going to be a good day!
