Apr. 10th, 2012 04:20 pmHave I mentioned lately I love my job?
Well probably not late late last week when someone got overanxious to open/distribute the mail and things went missing. But they turned up ... yesterday I think ... in the mailbox of the person that wasn't me that opened the incoming supplies package. Yeah. I dunno. But all better, so I am not asking.
But today when I was headed down to the empty room we're allowed to have food in [and thus holds all the staff functions with food] along with the Uberboss and a new employee which he introduced me to.
"This is Stephanie. She's great. She does EVERYTHING."
oh lols.
After I get done falling over from a compliment (seriously after a decade of co-workers who mostly just barely tolerated me, to have these people just automatically love me, it's so hard to process in mah head.) I realize that one of my greatest work strengths is this:
I AM A DOGSBODY.
I go anywhere, do anything, and manage not to fall on my face most of the time. I want it on business cards:
My Name
Professional Dogsbody
But then I went to the National Library Week thing and had cake and ice cream and pretzels and demonstrated once again that I am PANTS at small talk. People try and talk to me sometimes and I must fix them with a look of abject terror while inside my head there's a running ZOMG TALK SAY SOMETHING SAY ANYTHING HALP MAKE WORDS NOW loop running :)
After the Dean talked for a minute and half I got the heck out of there! But not before the Dean complimented my jacket. So that was something.
And did I mention cake?
