as April gets going...
Apr. 1st, 2011 01:11 pmI should be doing massive data entry work... but some jackhole down the hall is blasting a 16mm film on Transactional Analysis and who can think with NOISE BLARING!!!????
On the plus side, one of my goals for March was "be more social" and that turned out to be a surprising success. I see by my notes, I had some form of get out of the house/office event on 14 of the 31 days in March. I was aiming for ONCE A WEEK!!
On the semi-negative side, I didn't get nearly as much writing done as I wanted to. But I did finally finish up my Sherlock story, so that's one less project to think about. Now to zero in on my Merlin fic in April. Still not sure I can commit to a daily writing stint. Still trying to figure out what feels right to me in terms of encouraging my writing.
Going forward I would like to keep up the social thing. I am MUCH less inclined to brood if I have things to look forward to/interactions with people.
Also, I'd like to figure out April's version of "take myself to see Frankenstein." Since the DC trip got cancelled, I now need to find some EVENT in April to attend. Then I can check "get out more" off my list of monthly goals.
Oh, and I am crossing off "be braver" on Monday when I am meeting maybe a dozen co-workers (from the mothership and other satellites maybe) for a crafty lunchtime gathering at the mothership. An email came out a few weeks back investigating interest in getting these started again, and after thinking it over for a couple of days I thought "be brave" and sent in an email expressing interest. Connecting with co-workers about crafty pursuits should be a good thing, right? Right? *scared*
Need to remember to dig up a few of my scrappy journals etc. to take with me...
The blues have not gone away. They probably never will, entirely, but getting out more, and doing THINGS seems to help. Now if I could do something about all the headaches... [insert parental speech about a) getting a doctor and b) getting said doctor to do something about them.]
So put a positive check mark next to March. It just HAD to be a step up from February! And onwards towards April...
