So I might possibly have sprung for all all-region dvd player and the UK versions of the first five seasons of Lewis today. Paydays are dangerous, yo. and not all the fault of wanting to see the full versions of Lewis. I've been thinking about a all/multi-region dvd player for a while now. 

also a pale pink ink pad and a brown pen for my scrapbooking. 

I totally need/want a nap as I was up for about an hour between 3-4 this morning thanks to a nasty storm that blew through. constant thunder and lightning for at least half an hour and wind and rain like crazy. had to drag downed limbs off my driveway to get out and go to work this morning. the winds shifted my trash can 3 feet to the right and flipped the lid open.

and having finished up a giant project at work just now I am going to try and do as little as possible between now and 5pm!

yeah, I found myself being increasingly annoyed at PBSs standard chop job of UK shows (they seem to _sometimes_ get it right but mostly not). but there's a whole big world of stuff out there that isn't region 1!! :))

assuming I can twiddle it to the right region 0 settings I'm hoping for good things!

I didn't know there were different versions for the UK and US. What's the difference? US version just slightly edited for length, or what?

PBS tends to chop ~10 minutes out of the UK version of things for their intro thing and all the attendant "brought to you by..." stuff.

From what I've been reading the Lewis series 1-3 dvds [or UK s.1-4] are the PBS cut versions. I think PBS figured it out eventually and released the full versions on the later series dvds. So I ordered the ITV version from amazon.co.uk. Because sometimes they make the _oddest_ editing choices! :)

can't wait to get it and test it out!
