bluecastleCreativity wise, I am apparently a serial monogamist.
If I am creating one way -- writing, art journaling, scrapbooking, or whatnot -- I can only do THAT thing. I can't write AND scrap ... or art journal and make cards.
I feel like it oughtn't to be that way, but maybe I should stop thinking so hard and get out of my own way.
At any rate I am spending a great deal of time (and frankly money, I need to stop that) getting inspiration for, and organized to FINALLY get that European Concert Tour I was on in 1984 in a scrapbook.
I think I have ordered every possible travel themed item in red, white and blue that exists. (Well clearly not as the scrapbooking universe is made up of INFINITE numbers of things.) But I am in LOVE with a particular line from about a year ago called Boarding Pass.
I didn't actually set out to theme this album that uber-patriotic red/white/blue ... but since we were required to have an outfit in those colors for our concert performances, my Mom packed me for the whole two week trip with pretty much nothing but those colors in my suitcase, hence it all mixed and matched.
The other thing that delayed me in doing this by one or two decades (LOL!) was that all of my 300+ pictures were on slides. And it was only last year some time that I got a scanner that could handle digitizing them. I put in my first photo order last night for 114 4x6 prints and a handful of 5x7 prints for the country divider pages I want to do.
I suspect this project will take me the better part of the summer ... but we'll see how fast it comes together once all my embellishments ... and that rather large order of paper I placed this morning arrive. I'm thinking one traditional 12x12 (or maybe 8.5x11) layout for each country, and then maybe a few extra full layouts if I have a particular memory I want to bring out. Otherwise the rest of the pictures will go into divided page protectors with or without journaling slots ... like endless shots of random London landmarks won't need any journaling probably ... but some pictures might have a few details that are part of the story.
I've also ordered slide sheets to tuck into the scrapbook as well, so each countries slides will be in that section of the scrapbook.
Organization like that just makes me happy :)
