Yesterday was a good mail day.
Did squeeful jumping up and down when I found a postcard from Murano, Italy in my mailbox, sent by the always and ever lovely
neifile7. HAPPY DANCES WERE DONE. All the more adorable since once of my lines in the Venice show is "Murano glass and Burano lace."
{{Hugs postcard}}
It's totally going in my show notebook with grate love.
Also got a assortment of STUFF that I ordered from etsy ... a bundle of destashing stuff from a jewelry seller which I got mostly cause it had a rosary in it and I decided last week that my character in the show is religious. It may never be more than me tucking it in the pocket of my costume for my own character development. But given its a show about orphans/abandonded babies ... taking a cast off thing ... and it did need a bit of fixing up ... seemed appropriate some how. Especially as I'm not Catholic and not particularly religious, it always feels a bit weird therefore to be wandering around with a rosary. In my previous turn as a Mother Superior for about five minutes in Cyrano, someone got those of us playing the nuns free, plastic, glow in the dark rosaries from the St. Vincent de Paul people. I still have that one, but I wanted something a bit more realistic.
And then of course things went to hell when the cat bit me as I was trying to retrieve the burrito wrapper he stole off the table. It was cute when he was carrying it around, but then he started eating the foil backed paper, and then CHOMP. Then he broke two bowls from my Nanny's dinner service that's now mine ... SMASHED them. Bye bye well loved dishes. Then he knocked over a shelf when I shut him in the sewing room while I vacuumed up the dish shards. Then he tried to climb up a sweater I had hanging in my room and got his claw stuck. Then I accidentally stepped on him. Yeah, it was not a good night for kitty and me. Not sure why he was so possessed of devilment.
By 9 pm I had had enough, and took my splitting headache to bed until about midnight. Got up then and did a few things and went back to bed around 2:00. Man. I just cannot seem to get enough sleep lately. I'm blaming it on lack of sunlight or something, but its becoming something of an impediment as I am about to get super super busy in the next three weeks until we open.
Anyway ... YAY mail. BOO cat. HUGS to fandom.
