cross your fingers
Jul. 19th, 2011 09:31 amSo, last week during one of our Studio work sessions, my friend L was telling us about this kitten that she'd managed to trap from a litter of strays that live around her house. And how they were looking for a home for little Jinx.
Somehow, Jinxy wouldn't get out of my head, and so after thinking about it a lot the next day, I emailed her and said ... hey ... maybe I could meet Jinx.
Then she tells me that her husband had promised Jinx to one of his friends, but there were other littermates out there ... so I said ... sure... let me know when there are other kitties to meet.
Then last night she texted me to say that things with the husband's friend hadn't work out (his wife was allergic) and if I wanted to meet Jinx, I could.
So tomorrow, or the next night I am going to meet a kitten. A very scared kitten. He's hiding under L's futon right now. And if/when I bring him/her home more freaking out will surely occur from the change in surroundings.
But I have bought some food and a litter pan. And a few toys. I have cleaned out my studio so Jinxy has a safe place to live a) while I'm a work and b) while I kitten proof the rest of my terribly messy house! Baby still needs a bed, and a scratching post, and Mama needs a gate for the studio door!
Even a month ago, I was sure another cat was far off in the distance. I can't even explain why I think Jinxy is a good idea. But don't be surprised if you see kitten pictures in this space soon. Trying not to get too invested until I know for sure things are going to work out. But hopeful :)
