chasing my tail.
Apr. 6th, 2011 12:20 pmRushed off my feet at work lately. It's by busy time of the year as fiscal year monies had to be spent out a couple weeks ago, and now I get to process all the stuff everyone ordered to use up their money!
But I thought I ought to update a bit. Not that I remember who I told what. And none of it is that important, frankly.
Monday's craft lunch was good and bad. Only one other person showed up so had to make small talk for about half an hour. We did manage to snare into our conversation a random woman who was checking out the displays in the room we were meeting in and happened to see my journals. Turns out she makes art dolls and loves handmade cards, so that was cool.
Spent yesterday kind of blue, until I got off my butt and started to get a few things done.
Haven't touched my Merlin story, but I inspired by one of my RL pals, who's writing a haiku every day for Poetry month, I pulled out the romance novel I'm cannibalizing by time to make found poems.
So here's the sum total of my writing this month so far, blog entries excepted:
Monday --
Page 21
They bend
Like grass
Lingering
His expression serious
Wishing she had never mentioned
This weighty inheritance.
She had hoped
That he, too, might have found himself far away
Focused on the mundane,
Constrained by the domestic.
Tuesday --
Page 23
Murky dregs of instant coffee.
That jet-black hair.
She hadn't minded the damage.
There were people craning to see,
Heedless of the rain.
I never really know what these found poems are really about, I just like the sound, the imagery of them...
