OK, so while I sit here and wait for the tow truck driver to come and get my car out of my garage … I am contemplating how shitty yesterday and today have been.

Not end of the world, OMG people are dying shitty (that was two weekends ago) …

But still. Leave early yesterday to take my cat to the vet. Go through to usual hell to get him stuffed into his carrier. Vet sees him for five minutes … weighed, temp taken, listens to his lungs and pronounces them “noisy” and says “can you bring him in tomorrow for xrays?”

Well, okay that’s annoying but still no reason to freak out.

Yeah, the freak out came on the five minute drive home when all of a sudden all the energy in my car just bleeds out. I managed to coast over to the side of the road, and did get my car started again. And got home just fine.

Then freaked out all over Twitter. (sorry guys. Car woes send me over the edge)

So I wake up at 7 this morning, stuff the cat in his carrier, and go out to my car hoping for the best. Yeah. It’s dead.

Call Dad for taxi ride to vets.

Email boss to say I'm racking up what I think might be my 6th vacation day this month. UGH.

Call Garage to see when they can look at car … “probably Monday” is their response.

Call towing place to come and get my car out of the garage.

Just got back from watching the guy winch it up onto the back of his flatbed truck, which was, I have to admit kind of cool.

Now I guess I get to sit back and wait for phone calls to see how badly sick both my cat and my car are. I cannot afford giant bills for either of those two beasts, so all I can do is hope for the best.

Was crunching numbers after my bus adventure the other day, and there might be a more urgent reason now to switch over to the bus deal the Uni has going (you pay $5 a month and turn in your parking permit, and they kick in the other $50 a month for a bus pass). Could save myself in the neighborhood of $400-450 a year in parking fees by going that route. Not to mention what I’d save in gas by not driving up and back every day. It’s looking better and better every minute here.

So looking at a nesting weekend here, which isn’t all bad if I can get my Dad to run me to the grocery store for a few essentials.

Real life. I do not like you on days like this!
