Celebrating last working day of the year by wearing wacky and wonderful felt mistletoe headband to work. Whipped it up last night while watching What Not to Wear (where both Clinton and the client-of-the-week flounced off the set). Completely easy actually.
Trying to figure out what to pick up for somewhat celebratory dinner tonight, and planning ahead for tomorrow.
So far, my plans are:
sleep in
get up in time for lunch and the 1pm showing of It's a Wonderful Life at the Performing Arts Center where I used to work. (I know like every line, own it on DVD and will bawl my eyes out ... but I went last year and had a great time seeing it on the big screen.) HOT DOG!
then go and do any last minute Christmas shopping
come home and start wrapping stuff for my parents.
maybe I'll put some cookie baking in there.
But mostly just completely looking forward to 10 days off work. As staff members we don't get the fall and spring breaks the students and faculty do, so this is our one big perk of working for the U. Mostly I think they're just glad they can turn the heat off for a week and save something on their 40 million dollar yearly electric bill. ;0)
(Also, if my fellow coworkers would bugger off early I wouldn't mind doing that same. just saying.)
