while my soup cools...

...so they just called me to say "um, why are you coming to this training tomorrow? are you going to be using {the thing the training is about}?"
And all I can say is 'um... 'cause my boss told me to go to it..."
and then they say "who IS your boss, we couldn't figure it out." and I told them and then they went, oh, so the Director is your supervisior, huh?! well, if he told you to come and do the training you might as well come along and do it, but since you haven't done {some other stuff I only kind of understand} there won't be much for you to practice on on a practical level.
so yeah. Boss = BONEHEAD. But I think it will be okay. I said I'd take good notes, and they said I could practice in the training module. OY.
I so want to think they'll call up my boss, and then he'll show up in my doorway and go "NEVERMIND."
UGH. Dayjob is dumb.
SO LETS TALK ABOUT WHAT I AM DOING TONIGHT!
Finally, its time to use those GREAT BIG SEA tickets. I admit to not knowing much about the band other than some vague "we started out playing in Newfoundland pubs" and they have a band dog called Tosh. :) But I am prepared to love them, and shell out for a CD at intermission and everything. Not all the pals will be there ... one couldn't make it, and the other one is still recovering from the tib-fib 'break a leg literally" fracture from the Shakespeare Festival.
I gather I'm in for a raring raucous good time. I could use one of those even tho I am 100% not one of those people who enjoys loud concerts. When I worked at this performing arts center I always volunteered to be the one who stood in the lobby and dealt with the latecomers. (as an aside I do not understand those people who stroll in at 9:45 when the ticket says 8 pm and then get mad at us for making them wait until the current song is finished before we seat them. but that's a whole 'nother rant.)
All of which will make for a late night before tomorrow mornings now-semi-useless training :)

Date: 2010-09-23 04:10 am (UTC)They're in Pburgh tomorrow night, actually.
I don't go to many concerts but this one was a good one. 450 people stomping and clapping and singing along!

I like the one about clubbing seals.
