The performing arts center where I used to work just sent out their weekly "What's On" email and they're announcing this random film festival called "Bad Futures". Jeepers creepers ... look at the lineup. Great films, yes, but can you imagine mainlining all of these in three days??????
Friday
1pm Blade Runner (1982)
3:30pm La Jetee (1962) / Fahrenheit 451 (1966)
7pm Children of Men (2006)
9:15pm Brazil (1985)
Midnight A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Saturday
1pm Sleeper (1973)
3pm Gattaca (1997)
7pm District 9 (2009)
9:30pm Code 46 (2003)
Midnight The Matrix (1999)
Sunday
Noon Fail Safe (1964)
2:30pm 28 Days Later (2002)
5pm Metropolis (1927)
8:30pm 2001: A Space Oddyseey (1968)
And just what would your state of mind be at the end of it??? But for a bargain price of $25 for the whole whack it would be an interesting thing to attempt!
Of them all, I'd love to see Metropolis on the big screen, but that's right in the middle of my usual Sunday dinner with the parents which is not set in stone, but I get attitude when I choose to do things other than that. So I probably won't go.
Which might be a good thing for my state of mind, right?!
