Welcome to Sherlock Sunday
Sep. 19th, 2010 02:37 pmWherein I give you recs to stuff I read and found interesting.
I still don't know that I buy Sherlock/John as a sexual relationship, but I am happy to read fics and see what works for me and what doesn't. Heck, I read a LOT of Goren/Eames over in the LOCI fandom and I never once bought that as an actual 'hey let's have sex and fix each other' relationship. But it was fun!
So here's a few different takes on how Sherlock and John might have ended up in bed together.
Title: What Makes Us Rich
Author:

Rating: explicit
Length: 3128 words
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Sherlock/John
Summary: In which an asexual Sherlock tries to figure out what John sees in sex. Sherlock likes experiments, but the results are not always clearly defined. Fascinating look at the compromises and compensations of a complex relationship.
Sherlock beamed at him and stood up, crossing the room to him in a couple of fast strides. Suddenly, the prospects for entertainment this afternoon were looking up. He pulled John to his feet and kissed him, dragging him close and taking the time to feel both the texture of his jumper, rough against his fingers, and his hair, which was even softer than he'd hypothesised.
It didn't take much time after that for them to get upstairs, twined together on John's bed (“I wasn't kidding about needing a Hazmat suit to touch yours, Sherlock.”) and swiftly losing items of clothing. Sherlock poured over John's body, testing the different textures of it: the smoothness of the untanned skin on his sides, the thin texture of the hair on his chest, the uneven scarring on his shoulder. It was fascinating to see it all spread out for him, exactly as he'd thought it would be, all of his history on display for Sherlock to read at his leisure.
Title: Beethoven's Two Romances
Author:
pixieblues
Rating: PG
Length: 2870 words
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Sherlock/John
Summary: In which John gets seduced in ways he never thought he would be ... or even thought he wanted.
Sherlock does stop playing this time, only to level an affronted glare at John. “And you say I have no knowledge of the ‘real world’. This is one of the most famous pieces of music in history, and the foundation of most of the songs ever written.”
John shrugs carelessly. “Music’s never been my forte.”
Sherlock rolls his eyes. They couldn’t be more different people, John thinks as Sherlock lifts his arms again, and he turns back to the headline of today’s newspaper.
“I shall just have to educate you then, John,” Sherlock murmurs, more to himself than to his companion, and the recognisable tune of Canon in D strikes up once more.
Title: Timeline
Author:

Rating: explicit
Length: 1310 words
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Sherlock/John
Summary: Sherlock needs John. John is endlessly useful in all kinds of ways. Also a bonus fic for those of you with a fondness for people writing on their bed partners.
John's tempted to protest again, because Sherlock gets far too many things his own way.
Until Sherlock says his name, in that heavy, familiar way that John's completely incapable of saying no to. Moreso since he ended up in Sherlock's bed, which he's not sure if he should worry about or not.
ENJOY!
