random brain drain
Sep. 16th, 2010 11:48 amFlailing a bit here at work this morning trying to catch up and get back into the groove. (Especially as its not morning any more!)
Open House numbers coming in... we (the library) had about 3,500 participants. I think our table saw about 2,000 of those.
Being in a granite walled, marble floored two story atrium between Lego Rock Band and the DDR kids for two solid days makes me wish to go into a sound proof booth for about a week.
Day one went well, but it was an 11 hour work day (or very nearly)
Day two was LONG and I was in a FOG OF TIRED all day.
Met the new Dean ... saw the Uni President as he was leaving after coming by to do magic tricks for the kids in the prize room ...
Oh, and late on day two I had a couple girls come to the table ... one with a "Browncoats" tshirt ... and one with a weeping angels/TARDIS tshirt. That made me smile a lot.
Came home after day one and passed out on the sofa... but the Tuesday TV Trifecta was on ... albeit with 2 episodes of Covert Affairs and then Warehouse 13.
Covert Affairs had the non-cliffiest of cliff hangers. ( and this is why )
Warehouse 13 continues to be awesome in its own way. Anxious to see what continues to happen with H.G. (Helena) Wells. The time machine episode last week (which one of them said was "like if the Warehouse swallowed Mad Men!) was great ... and all the Egyptology stuff this week during the first episode of the two-part season finale was so wonderful. Lara Croft ain't got nutthin' on H.G. Wells.
Myka: "No, that's what FILMMAKERS think female archeologists wear!" (of HG's tank top, shorts, tights and boots ensemble)
and
HG's: "Some of my lovers HAVE been men..." and Pete's eyebrow raise in response made me smile a lot.
Okay, going to go see if it's started raining here yet, and fetch me some lunch. (and answer the text I just heard pop into my phone)
Laters! Hopefully I will have a functioning brain by then!
