Sep. 7th, 2010 11:08 amI could talk about how it's the first day back after a three day weekend ... how I've got a headache ... and a sunburn ... and our computers being cranky. Yeah, but all of that is boring, right?
So let me talk about my undergarments.
Okay, it's not THAT exciting *grins*
See... maybe because I grew up inside the pages of books set 100 years ago or so... I just LOVE a nice crisp white cotton petticoat. I wore out the last one I had, and Saturday I finally got around to DIY-ing another one from a white cotton skirt I'd picked up a good while back and has been sitting in my todo pile in the studio for longer than I'd care to admit. It was a bit snug, so I had to cut the original waistband off , trim some of the top of the skirt off, and put in some new elastic for the new waist band. And presto... I'm in love.
I wore it Sunday to the Crickfest on top of my shift, and under my overdress.
But today, I've got it on under my blue pleated skirt from the thrift store (along with my red and white striped tshirt and red mary janes and white socks), and I can't tell you how much I love the swooshyness of it ... the way that it brushes my knees and tickles them is just delightful ... and the knowledge that under my skirt is a white petticoat with rows of lace ... well, it just makes me happy.
It's probably an odd thing to love here in the latter part of 2010 ... but it's one of the things that makes me me. So there!
