Three days and counting...
Dec. 21st, 2009 10:53 amHaving survived the zombie apocalypse Friday night... and spent all weekend snowed in and working on my Yuletide fic (with frequent breaks to an craft awesome fabric journal cover)... I am back at work this morning feeling ready to really embrace the season.
Uploaded the Yuletide fic last night, and now I feel like I can really get to celebrating the season with all my writing obligations out of the way.
I can't really decorate as my house is a disaster area during my long stalled guest room renovation, but I did remember some snowflake garland I had picked up at the 'everything's a dollar store' last week... so after the story was sent off I hung that in my living room archway where the fake evergreen garland usually goes for a little festiveness.
Will run off to the post office at lunchtime and send off the last of the lj holiday cards/packages.
Then tonight, my Dad invited himself along Christmas shopping. Not sure why he wants to go with me, but if he is as bereft of ideas as I am, then maybe together we can figure out some things for my Mom.
It's the winter solstice, and my parents wedding anniversary today. Something like 46 years they've been married now, but don't ask me how :D
And so off I go. The students are mostly gone now. Finals wrapped up last week. But there are still things sitting on my desk staring at me to process. So back to the day job!!!
