All sugared up and no place to go!
Aug. 29th, 2009 07:39 pmHad the kind of afternoon I don't have very often ... just hitting the craft store with a girl friend and then chillin' over drinks and appetizers and dessert at Applebees.
I seem to be bad at making and keeping friends in general, but I have never really had girlfriends. Other girls have never really warmed up to me and I have no idea why. I would make an excellent side kick :0)
But the director who I stage manage for ... she is becoming my friend ... or has been for a while now ... whatever. I said I was bad at the friend thing. I am shy and I don't trust people well. I recognize this is no firm foundation for friendships.
But anyway... the point is... we got together to shop for stuff at the craft store for a project she's working on for her sister's birthday, and then we went to dinner.
It's probably something most people don't think twice about. I'm sorta jealous about those people. I just don't know how people manage a large circle of friends. I'd like to know how that works, how that feels. I think I'd be bad at it, but you never know, right?
We gossiped. We planned out theatrical and craft projects for the next couple months. She told me about her weird students. I told her about my weird upcoming vacation trip. We may have agreed to make each other do NaNoWriMo. (EEP!!)
So now I need a nap to recover ... not least from that hella large piece of ice cream pie I had. It was a good day.
