Twitter is still dead, but LJ is back up! I hear tell it might have been broken by someone committing Jack/Ianto fluff. Did the little fluffy bunnies clog the filter?! Dag-nab-it, I could use some good fluff right about now.

From the 'this is why we can't have nice things' department, I picked up the ingredients for these really yummy looking goat cheese and roasted red pepper panini from my quick and healthy cookbook when I was at the grocery store last night.

You can't eat like this on a budget! When I got home and crunched the numbers I had $22.04 invested in the six ingredients I needed. The recipe makes four sandwiches. Now $5.51 isn't exactly going to break the bank ... and it would have been cheaper if I hadn't had to buy a whole jar of kalamata olives to get the 12 I need for the recipe ... but still. This is why I eat a lot of canned spaghetti and frozen mac and cheese. They're cheap.

We'll see when I make them tonight if they're worth the price.

Off now to try and work blackboard, prowl, and cleansed into 100 words. I love a challenge.

Huzzah. I have been tagged for the first time! Thanks[info]curriejean! and since I can’t obsessively check twitter every five seconds…

Who sleeps next to you at night?

my cat … Daniel Striped Tiger … and occasionally a stuffed sheep (depending upon levels of Torchwood induced traumas).

What kind of books do you read?

it’s really more about the kind of books I DON’T read, given the size of the pile of ‘to be read’ books on my coffee table. There are a lot of books in that pile about angsty detectives, actually. I can usually get through anything with a good solid narrative. Have a fondness for satirical essays, books about moving someplace new, am completely smitten by the Wimsey-verse, and children’s books written before 1940.

What’s your Occupation?

I help maintain a film collection for a large University library. also, I seem to be getting paid to do theater more and more lately, so that’s exciting.

What's really creepy?

vague swishing noises in the dark, centipedes, and my mother’s unhealthy obsession with pinecones.

What's your current fandom,obsession,addiction?

Torchwood. [Oh Torchwood series 3 – you are the hate that tastes like raspberries.]

What websites do you visit when you go on line?

livejournal, flickr, hulu, IMDb, wikipedia, etsy, and elebenty-hundred crafty blogs.

Do you get cravings? if so what?

donuts. I think of them as legal crack.

What do you do to change your mood?

ABBA can be particularly useful for this. also ice cream.

What's your Zodiac sign?

I am a goat.

Do you want to learn another language?

certainly. must first obtain more agile brain box.

5 things you cant live without?

theater. cheese. black patent-leather mary jane shoes. things to stick other things together with. friends.

Something you would like to say to somebody?

I wish you (you know who you are) could care for me more.

Looking forward to?

my upcoming vacation. T-minus 24 days and counting…

Say something to the person who tagged you.

*hugs* this was fun!

Just down the hall from the firing range, is a mostly un-used classroom with cold war era maps on the walls, and a large wooden desk at the front next to a chalkboard filled with a complicated series of equations. Jack sometimes notices Alex standing in the room, staring at the equations, trying to make sense of them.

Some time in January of 2000 the blackboard is wiped clean.

But sometimes as Suzie wanders the Hub late at night, she sees Jack standing in that room, staring at an empty blackboard, and running a shiny metal chain through his fingers.
