Let's Start at the Very Beginning (and ramble on and on and on)...

Tell us a little about yourself. You are you? What are your hobbies?

Well bollocks. I hate those kinds of questions -- the kind that either have to be answered in one sentence or a Ph.D. thesis.

But. Today I choose: thesis. Who am I? What ARE my hobbies?

Frankly... I think my hobby is ... well, hobbies. "I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly" (apologies Richard and Oscar -- you know I love you)... a little bit of this, a little bit of that. What day is today? And who the hell knows what I'll be into tomorrow.

Hobbledehoy. Peripatetic. That's me.

(no subject)

As anyone crazy enough to read my first post could tell, I have a lot of hobbies. I only have so much free time right now though as I'm in the middle of the second week (of two) of rehearsals for a stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm the town gossip. I've been away from acting for a couple years, and damn... walking and talking at the same time is HARD!!

Anyway...I tend to hop around from creative pursuit to creative pusuit as the winds take me. But the thing that's got me by the tail right now is writing. I have always been a reader, and as such appreciate good writing. But getting stuff out of my head and onto the page was always such a struggle that I never considered myself a very good writer.

I've kept journals for years, and am now trying to branch out and try some creative writing. I've been writing some fan fiction in an attempt to get better, to improve, to challenge myself to sit here in front of the computer (on in front of an actual piece of paper) and see what comes out.

I've been pretty happy with some of the stuff I've churned out, and I'll be posting them here. I want to try and write all kinds of things. The desire to write has been growing, and I've been trying to nurture it, so we'll see what we end up with.
