covered in cat hair and guilt

bluecastleIt's not even 9:30 and it's been an eventful morning. Woke up a little after 6 with a horrible headache. Was pretty sure at that point that I'd be spending the day in bed. But I got up and took some fake Excedrin and slathered myself in fake Ben-Gay and went back to bed for an hour. Was all primed to send off an "I'm not coming in today" email to my supervisor, but woke up an hour or so later feeling not so bad. And I had to take the cat to the vet's anyway, so up I got and took a shower.
Then I insensibly put on all black before wresting a 7 month old orange tabby cat into a box. :)
Poor Jinx a) did not understand why there was no FOOD or b) why I was suddenly trying to shove him in his carrier. Took three tries to get him in there, and he was REALLY unhappy until I got him into the car at which point he settled down, thankfully. Ten minutes later I was dropping him off and signing paperwork and whatnot, and leaving my baby with strangers. ;)
UGH.
Now I'm just left with the ghost of a headache, a LOT of orange hairs to pick off my black cardigan and t-shirt, and a low-grade level of worry... I think it's going to be a long day until I can pick him up around 5 pm.

Being a responsible adult can really suck some days. Hope the headache stays away.
