Jul. 13th, 2011 02:02 pmSo much better day today :) Thanks for those kind words and thoughts yesterday (and the anonymouse who sent me e-giftie choccie!) I hate the bad daze. ;)
But today I woke up without a headache, and when I got to our morning staff meeting they had put on a breakfast spread to welcome me. Nothing says love like strong coffee and sweet danishes!
Still sort of amazed by this whole new world. Off topic convos around the table included such things as the topography of Joyce's Ulysses, Palestrina and choral music, and ancient Roman monuments. Interpersonal dynamics still being sussed out. Plus, I'm just wired such that I worry about things like what unspoken protocol is there about where we sit at/around the table. And while coworkers may or may not have been aware of it, our dept. head was at the top of the table, and me and the part-timer were at the foot. Everyone variously in the middle. So not a big deal, but I tend to notice things like that when others don't. And fret a bit about the social niceties.
And I'm playing today's version of spreadsheet sprints ... I have to do 25 entries every 15 minutes, and after I do the allotted 25 I can faff around doing other stuff until the next quarter hour. Having the attention span of a gnat ... problematic.
And, actually, my 15 minutes are up! So back to it!
