During my five or so years in the Law and Order: Criminal Intent fandom (my first official hang out online w/ like minded peeps fandom) I made one off-line friend. Who lives in Ireland. So there's a good chance we may never meet. But I'm hopeful for someday.

Anyway ... we've emailed nearly every day for a couple of years now. Which I love so much, even if I feel pretty disconnected from her little thatched cottage life in the middle of nowhere Ireland.

But, we've reached an odd phase ... the fandom which brought us together ... the show ... is done now (barring any extra inning hail mary resurrections). Since we talk about other stuff, it's not paralyzing or anything, but strange to think there isn't going to be any more of what brought us together.

Transitions. I seem to be having a lot of them lately. Which actually goes a long way to explaining the background tension I keep trying to combat, I suspect.

Am hoping to spend a good bit of time crafting this weekend. want to finish the base pages, and bind the latest visual journal I'm working on. It's SO COOL. And maybe maybe turf out the art room. If I'm ever going to get serious about getting another kitteh, I've got to be doing some housecleaning. Can't have theoretical new cat attacked by slatternly dust buffaloes or the like!

I've been thinking about this entry of yours for a couple of days now. I guess because it really resonates with me as far as my "social network" of people. I'm not a very gregarious person, so most of my social interactions are online and at a distance; they feel tenuous.
