happy 90210 day...
Sep. 2nd, 2010 01:53 pmOh dear god the pain.
Took the day off Tuesday for a category 3 headache.
Today's headache, which started off as a tropical depression has escalated into a category 4 headache.
Here's hoping I can get through the next three hours. And that this thing won't escalate to category 5 which will have me in bed with my head packed in bags of frozen peas.
So not the best day so far.
Did get over to the mothership for our new Dean's first address to the troops -- in conjunction with the completion of the library's new 140 seat auditorium. This is the third iteration of this auditorium. And they swear the last! (Ah, named spaces) But it's lovely, new windows letting the sunlight stream in, dark cherry-ish wainscoting, butter yellow walls, with sage green acoustic panels. The technology still needs a good whipping in, but with three projectors, and 20 speakers ... and live streaming capabilities...
Was an SRO crowd. Between the new dean, and the new space ... it was the big draw this morning! It's always odd to me how many people recognize and speak to me. I MAYBE get over to the mothership once a month for some function. Granted I started my library career in ILL in the building but I've been out with AV services for like 15 years now. Someday I will get back to the main building. I miss the books.
So anyway ... safe trip to those of you heading to Dragon*Con. My friend that's going from here had a minor freak out yesterday when Fed Ex told her the delivery of the costumes she'd shipped to her hotel was refused. But a call to the hotel assured her that her stuff is there and waiting for her. Smile if you see any Enchanted princesses in a pink gown -- it might be my friend. I helped pick out the fabric for her dress on my last trip to NYC.
Happy travels travelers!!!
